Job Summary
  • The Catheterization Lab Technologist is an individual who is experienced in diagnostic and invasive cardiovascular and peripheral vascular technologies, techniques with the knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, and physiology on adult aged patients.
  • The individual performs all cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular procedures at a technical and professional level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail.
  • The Catheterization Lab Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures on both inpatient and outpatients that require responsible and independent judgment.
  • The individual will assume responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required.
  • The individual will assist with training, education, and orientation of staff and others.
  • The Catheterization Lab Technologist will assist and maintenance of the CQI program.
  • The individual will also recognize that the purpose of their employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction, and to give the utmost quality as a catheterization lab technologist.
  • The Cath Lab Tech is responsible to adhering to and following all Cardiovascular/Angiography Laboratory and Avera St. Luke's policy and procedures, and the guidelines of other pertinent regulating agencies.
  • The individual may be assigned other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director and/or by the Clinical Coordinator of the Catheterization Lab.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer status.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Science degree required
  • Two years minimum experience in their field or specialty preferred.
  • Must be familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, comprehension of the ECG and hemodynamic system.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Certification from ARRT or similar accrediting body preferred.
  • The Cath Lab Technologist must meet the required CME associated with their certification.
Work Schedule
  • Monday - Friday; 72 hours every 2 weeks
    • 7:
      00 am - 3:
      30 pm
    • Weekend call rotation every other weekend
    • Holiday call rotation every other holiday
    • Every other call time
    • Occasional overnight
    • $10,000 Sign on Bonus
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
  • $24.75 - $37.00 per hour
